Iyouké

The word Iyouké means “light” in the Yambassa language of Cameroon. Our apolitical and non-denominational association, founded in 2019, has the mission of bringing light to our environment, like a lamp that enlightens populations, and particularly the most vulnerable. We want to promote the image of Cameroon, its culture, the state work, through sound and image, and encourage among the populations, activities and gestures that have a positive impact on the environment.

Our main objective is to protect the environment and strengthen the autonomy of populations.

We mainly work with indigenous populations, women and young people, carrying out missions of direct aid, awareness-raising, training, and legal and institutional support.

We are for an “ecological patriotism”. We want to raise local awareness about environmental issues, and encourage people to respect the planet more, by consuming in a way that allows us to preserve our resources and our environment as much as possible. We coach and provide professionals to inform, supervise and advise on the protection of our common heritage, the fight against the destruction of the environment at the local level, the adoption of a healthier and more ecological way of life, and the sharing of gestures and tips to contribute to further protecting the environment.

Several volunteers help us in our mission, and we are supported by donations from individuals and companies.
